Кардиология – это специальность медицины, которая занимается сердцем и некоторыми специализированными патологиями кровеносной системы.
Сердце состоит из 4 камер: двух предсердий и двух желудочков. Правая сторона сердца перекачивает кровь в легкие для насыщения ее кислородом, чтобы левая сторона сердца могла перекачивать насыщенную кислородом кровь к остальным частям тела.

Появление первичного PCI привело к резкому снижению смертности от инфаркта миокарда с элевацией сегмента ST (STEMI) и спасло миллионы жизней.
Одним из наиболее интересных методов лечения в кардиологии в настоящее время является транскатетерная имплантация аортального клапана (TAVI или TAVR).
Последние данные свидетельствуют о том, что TAVI позволит отказаться от хирургической замены аортального клапана для большинства пациентов, подобно тому, как коронарное эндопротезирование привело к сокращению числа коронарных шунтирований BYPASS.
Всего через несколько лет мы будем считать вскрытие грудной клетки для замены клапана варварским пережитком прошлого.
Я должен отметить, что поскольку в настоящее время все больше людей выживают после сердечных приступов, смертность снижается, но заболеваемость быстро растет.
